Biographical Sketch: The Lone Star Land Company was formed in 1924 by William
Pulver Soash and members of the C.C. Slaughter family for the
purpose of selling Slaughter lands in West Texas, primarily in
Howard, Borden, Dawson, Martin, Lamb, Cochran, Hale, Hockley,
and Hartley counties of Texas. Most of the company’s activities
were completed by 1944, and the firm dissolved in 1955.
Scope and Content: Contains correspondence, financial material, land sales files, legal
material, township files, miscellaneous files and Slaughter family
files. The collection bulks with financial materials (1922-1955)
and land sales files (1915-1954) concerning transactions of the
