Folder 2:

General Information; Exhibit Information & Announcements; Events and Activities Calendars

Contains information about or from the Museum since 1970, including donations, inventories, and exhibit information. Subject sub-folders are maintained on the Goodman Gin and the present Museum building built opened in 1970. The Museum is on the southeast corner of 4th Street and Indiana Avenue. The building was originally envisioned by Texas Tech President Grover Murray as a cornerstone for a large museum complex that would include general West Texas history, ranching, and international cultures. The lobby includes a mural by Peter Rogers (see information in the file).

All file materials relate to the Museum or the Museum of Texas Tech University (1970-present). Anything prior to 1970 can be found under Texas Tech -- West Texas Museum file. The West Texas Museum Association sponsors many of the exhibits and progrwns at the Museum. Therefore, some of the promotional materials may also be found in the Exhibits & Activities sub-folders under West Texas Museum Association. All materials relating to Candlelight at the Museum can be found in the News Clippings and Activities sub-folders for the Ranching Heritage Center.
